Our Struggle for Identity

We are they you never pick,

We are often on the side

We are like the that lump of grass

That looks so different from the rest

But we don’t care about your sports

or for your nice new pants and hats

We don’t like the rules you craft

to make us what you want to see

So we will play and laugh and sob

without the care of prying eyes

you may wonder what you hear

as we create and laugh and sing

But we are not the same as you

we do not discriminate

for even if you do not do

or play the games we play

you are welcome over here

so if you get tired of being

what someone else thinks of you

then come hang out and learn

That you are you and I am I

and we are who we want to be

And we are all the same and not

And that is always been the way
